Trailbound Films: Origin Story

What started as a fun idea in our creative conversations quickly turned into something that we became really excited about and knew we wanted to actually pursue.

But first, let's rewind to January... Carson & I had our first date at the end of January, both setting low expectations for what it might turn out to be. We knew we had a lot in common but had no idea one long date would turn into months of traveling to see each other when we could. Since we started talking, we both knew that this connection was much deeper than either of us expected. The truth is, right before meeting, we had both accepted that we'd never meet a partner that truly understood us and all of our layers. And then...boom. He drove two hours for our first date at a dive bar in Chattanooga and the rest is history. Hours of facetime dates, driving back and forth from Knoxville, and now planning our first trip together across the country after knowing each other for just four months. But honestly, when you know you know.

So one day while we were dreaming up our Oregon Coast trip, I told him that we should shoot a ton of video and make our own little short film to document our travels and our story. I knew our creative collaboration would be magic and was so excited to create something that evoked emotion and captured our love for travel + our connection. From that conversation, more ideas started to spiral about being able to film and photograph airbnbs, boutique hotels, and the culture of a city as a trade for being able to explore and experience those spaces. Trailbound Films has dreams of being able to tell the story through our lens and being able to creatively capture content for brands. We're already traveling, so why not get hired to do what we love while we're at it?

Right away, I started designing the branding, we collaborated on a Pinterest board, and started building the website to start pitching to destinations we are already traveling or dream of visiting.

So anyways, now we're here. We know that together we can create some really beautiful, compelling imagery for brands. And we can't wait to bring you along for the ride.
